Here's more coloring pages that I have done for an upcoming curriculum package. These are from the life of Abraham. The first one is God telling Abraham the promise of descendants. The second is the birth of Isaac to Abraham and Sarah. The third one is Abraham sending Hagar and Ishmael away.

More NOLA Article Art

As mentioned in a previous post, A Study of New Orleans, I wrote an article for our organization's annual magazine entitled TELL. My article was on a mission serving in the New Orleans area and I have been working on various contributing artwork for it.  Here's a few more.

I took the two I recently made and combined them as a combo seen above. Maybe I'll add in the trumpeteer that I had recently done so I can have a silhouette jazz trio.
Artist Notes - these were pencil sketches with a 2B Derwent Graphic pencil on Hammermill Color Copy Digital paper (28lb, 100 brightness) then scanned onto my Dell Windows 7 Laptop into CorelDraw X5 for coversion into silhouette.

Just One More Day

Well, here it is at the end of September. Only one day left until the Monster Sketch Marathon. Every day from October 1st until October 31st I will post at least one sketch of monsters on this sketch blog. I have been working on them already, it's been a good project for me, one of discipline and creativity. I'm looking forward to them getting up here.

Camels at the Tulsa State Fair?

Well, every year at the Tulsa State Fair they have a petting zoo. This is the first time in five years that we have been in Tulsa much less the states in order that we get to go to the Fair. Tonight, we went to the petting zoo. Among the many animals there was a camel. I got some good pics of him and tonight at home sketched him. Here he is.

Also, in two days the great monster unleashing will take place, where for the month of October I will post at least one new monster sketch each day.

Cartoon Football

Three days left until the great monster-palooza event. On October 1st, I'll start posting at least one monster sketch per day until October 31st. Until then, here is a little guy that I drew tonight born out of inspiration after another University of Oklahoma football win. Tomorrow I may post something drawn from the Tulsa State Fair.

Only Four days until the first monster sketches start showing up here. Until then and in honor of the debates, here are some sketches I made while I was watching.

Lawdog - new story

This is an idea I came up with today for an Old West story featuring an old dog as the town's sheriff. Here is the first ink sketch that I made of the "Lawdog"

Halloween Children's Book - Update Inked & Colored

Here is the opening page of my new story, Jack the Pumpkin Head. There won't be any words on the page, and I may or may not do some final touch ups on the page in Corel Photopaint.

Building Background - All four

Okay, so here are all four buildings I created side by side. We plan on using these first as a background of our booth space at the National Missionary Convention. Each building will be on a banner that is 3 feet wide by 7 feet tall. Then for future presentations, for children, adults, classes, large groups, etc....; we can use any combination or number of these banners. Also, at our missions table, we can put one or two next to our other banner which is longways and sits behind a table. Hopefully, they will do more than just add color. They have many traits and characteristics of Italian architecture. They should, I used real buildings as my references. Hopefully, they will provide an Italian atmosphere as well as encourage questions. Tell me what you think!

And then there was one. This is building three out of four that I am working on. I am very happy with how they are turning out. They are basically exactly what was in my head when I envisioned them, which is extremely rare. See if you can spot the pigeons.

I Want To Ride My Bicycle

This bicycle is also from the building background banners that I am working on. I was so pleased with how this one turned out. It makes me want to ride it! Or better yet use it for an animated short.

Sketch From Dinner

I like going to those restaurants where they use paper for a tablecloth or placemat. Then I can doodle or sketch while I wait for my food. Here is one I did at an Irish restaurant, called Highlander, where we went for Heidi Rotert's birthday.
